As much as I'd like to see Trump not just impeached but tarred, feathered and ridden out of town on a rail, as long as conviction following impeachment remains impossible - and it will, unless either Mueller or the House committees find the equivalent of Nixon's "smoking gun" tape - the best strategy is the death by a thousand cuts for the next year and a half. Trump wants the impeachment battle. He always wants someone to fight with; it makes him look powerful to his dimwitted, authoritarian-follower base. Pelosi's strategy of not giving him that fight and instead saying he isn't worth it (which should and probably will rankle him terribly), while continuing to inflict one political colonoscopy after another on him, is the smart one.
