My point is we normalize criminality at an enormous price if we fail to hold Trump accountable for verifiable impeachable offenses (the evidence on obstruction is already there plus if Cohen is telling the truth Trump is guilty of five felonies) because of perceived political difficulties. We're not talking about a highway bill here.
If statements of principle don't do it for you, public impeachment hearings would be a far more effective way to put Trump and the Republicans on the defensive in advance of 2020 than passing legislation that has no hope of becoming law because, like impeachment, it lacks Senate support. I really don't get the queasiness. Too divisive? That's the weakest part of her argument.
