2. The law is clear. That committee chairman can get the records.

Note this doesn't mean Congress can publish them, or the chairman can share them with anyone in Congress, but he can get them. There is no doubt about the law.

In addition, it is ALSO illegal for the President to interfere with the process.

Trump is just trying to delay.
