Every time a woman lies about being raped, it undermines the credibility of real victims of rape. It's a horrible truth that the reason so many rape victims are not taken seriously is because some women use rape accusations as a weapon against men who have slighted them in some other way.

If there is to be real justice, the liars must be punished very severely. But they seldom are. So too many real victims of rape are treated as liars.
