I am an old Dem who sometimes have voted Rep. But, there's always a reason. For instance, when I lived in Kansas and was even a Dem party officer, I voted for Nancy Landon Kassebaum. Twice!! Over the Dem opponent. Why? Because she was much more liberal than the Dem. And because I recognized the value of having a liberal in the Republican caucus.
But, like Tweety, I am done with that cross-aisle politics. I haven't voted for a single Republican this century, nor will I.
I have always liked Tweety, although I have disagreed with some of what he says. Nobody's perfect and Matthews' heart and soul has always been in the right place. Just maybe now he has the permission to say so.
