This White House, with this so-called “pResident” in charge, isn’t expecting that. Gene Robinson had an outstanding column noting something of which we should stay very well aware. If you look at trump’s private sector track record of “doing business,” you get a pretty clear picture of his modus operandi.

Robinson’s op/ed about trump vs China on the tariff mess pointed to the shtick trump typically pulled, bullying the little-guy contractor or subcontractor who didn’t have the means or the time to respond or defy, much less mount a counterattack. You look at how trump has always “done business.” But China is NOT some little company run by some sole proprietor from Brooklyn. And the same template trump has always used DOES NOT work against a formidable and powerful opponent like China.

trump may assume his old tried-‘n’-true strong-armed local bait ‘n’ switch will apply across the board. It doesn’t. And it won’t, here, either.
