(3,268 posts)47. Uss Wasp CV18 and Her predecessor Uss Wasp CV7
Bore the brunt of the US naval aviation action in WW2. Any ship would be proud to have either of her namesakes record. CV7 was sunk by a submarine and CV18 was disabled by a japanese air attack in March 1945, returned to combat in July. CV18 served until decommissioned in 1972.
