He's threatening the viewer, wants to be tough and scary. He is scary, as any jerk with a gun these days can go out and kill a dozen people just like that. Just like someone did today.

In the Old West they called a gun an equalizer, I think. It means a guy like this schlub is "equal" in his power to assault, maim, and kill -- no weightlifting or bodybuilding exercise needed.

There are children's toys in the background, including a pink teddy bear. Does Child Protective Services know about this?
