In reply to the discussion: A N.H. woman allegedly shoved her golden retriever off a dock and then watched as it drowned [View all]Bluepinky
(2,574 posts)49. I have heard from someone who knows the woman that the story is all wrong.
The dog, Bailey, had cancer throughout his body. His owner loved him very much and took him swimming because he had always loved the water. Nancy, the owner, helped him off the dock into the water, but Bailey collapsed and sank. Nancy was hysterical and begged for help. An officer at the scene asked her if she had purposely drowned her dog to avoid paying for him to be euthanized, and this is the account that has been publicized. Apparently this woman is doubly traumatized, by the sudden death of Bailey and by the very public vilification of her.

OP
I don't buy that story at all. If you have a very sick dog you don't throw it in deep water.

Yes, let her have her day in court. Hopefully the truth, whatever it is, will come out.

They are deplorable . Why not put the dog to sleep if you must kill it? No- suffering is desired!

If she can afford trump socks she can probably afford to have her pet euthanized . I'm betting

Several folks jumped in to try and save the dog, but they were too late.

Even though she's only 66 it's not impossible that she is sliding into dementia of some kind

Tie a cinder block to her waist and see how long she survives in the lake...
