Job Creation under Trump - the reality (my Twitter thread) [View all]
If anybody is on Twitter, I would appreciate a Like and/or a RT as I need a little amplification to hopefully overcome my current Search Suggestion Ban (aka Shadowban) - Thanks! (And, yes I intentionally called Reagan a "former" Republican icon)
Thread unrolled here:
Donald Trump claims to be a great "jobs" president and cites 6 million jobs created since he became president. This is a lie. The following are the facts: 1) Most economists agree that the US economy needs to create around 175,000 jobs/month to keep up with population growth 1/6
2) Under Donald Trump, the economy has actually created 5,400,000 jobs per the BLS in his 28 months in office. That is slightly less than 193,000 jobs per month. A little above average, or mediocre. Now, let us compare him to some previous presidents: 2/6
In his last 28 months in office, the economy created 6,112,000 jobs under Obama. That averages out to a nice solid 218,300 jobs per month. So, job creation has decreased by over 25,000 jobs/month under Donny Dollhands compared to Obama. Trump < Obama 3/6
Going further back, in the first 28 months of the Clinton presidency, the economy created an excellent 7.3 million jobs, or 259,200 jobs per month. In his last 28 months as president, former Republican icon Ronald Reagan's economy created an excellent 7.2 million jobs 4/6
or a very nice 258,100 jobs per month. Both Reagan and Clinton did it with smaller populations as well. If you want really great jobs numbers, in the first 28 months of his presidency, the economy under Jimmy Carter created an astounding 8.7 million jobs, 311,700 per month 5/6
The reality is that job creation and job growth under Donny Dollhands has been rather mediocre, unlike what Donny and his surrogates in the media claim. #WeakTrump 6/6
