She told two friends at the time, and one urged her to go to the police. The other, a news anchor, urged her to keep quiet because Trump would destroy her. Also, I imagine in those days--and probably in these days too--she wouldn't have been able to get a conviction because the jury would have had problems with her going into the dressing room with him with a piece of lingerie. I doubt she could have found a jury where all twelve people understood that no means no.
I was raped and I pressed charges. I got into a car that I shouldn't have gotten into. I dutifully explained to the grand jury that the rapist pulled a knife on me, then put his other hand around my waist. The rapists' lawyer asked, "So the two of you were hugging in the car. What happened next?"
It's a damn lot easier to be quiet, even if your rapist isn't DT.
