In reply to the discussion: Vogue Magazine Refuses to Have Melania Trump on Their Cover -- and Melania's Camp is Furious About it [View all]no_hypocrisy
(46,701 posts)Let me explain.
Trump's adult life has been built upon resentment. Resentment against a variety of elite. Old money. CEOs. Restricted country clubs that wouldn't accept him and his family as members. Not being invited to their parties. Not being offered a seat on their board of directors or trustees. Not even invited to sit on a university board. Frozen out altogether.
He's still seething. Almost insanely angry.
He tried to elevate himself with Marla Maples before and after their marriage. All he got was ridiculous photo spread of her eating grapes out of his hands in Vanity Fair.
Vogue and Anna Wintour are known to be the pinnacle of style and being elite. Wintour has to like you to be on the cover, let alone between the pages.
Trump has to be wild with rage to know that Wintour has purposely snubbed his wife while allowing Michelle Obama on the cover more than once.
And remember those nude shots of Melania for the escort service. By having Wintour put her on the cover, it's kind of erasing Melania's past, the way that nobody calls your child a bastard once you get married.
