Perhaps injustice and suffering can lead to wisdom, where inner strength resides with a light yearning to shine.

Rubin's words are profound, shining with important truth.

Your last paragraph reminded me of the adage that evil thrives when good people do nothing. To that I would add people who are "unconscious and deeply troubled" -- too lost in themselves to see the danger or to understand what must be done.
