Impeachment is not limited to the Federal Code. "High crimes and misdemeanors can include actions outside the traditional judicial process. The House of Representatives should bring evidence and witnesses forward to make an exhaustive case for each of the above items, voting dozens of Articles of Impeachment. It is their Constitutional Obligation. Contrary to popular wisdom, it is good politics too.
Corrupt Republicans may well aquit on a vote, or cripple the rules of evidence to make it go away quickly. 40% of Americans will buy the lie that the whole thing is a partisan "witch hunt". They want a messiah emperor to protect them from the world's new realities.
Each senator who votes to aquit...ignoring overwhelming evidence...will have to defend that vote before an electorate that is younger, smarter, and tired of being lied to. A vote to aquit will be perilous for many of them. "Safe" GOP seats in the south and midwest can be in play soon. Backlash against the Trump/McConnel dynasty could leave the GOP the party of Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, the Dakotas, and a handful of southern states. An impeachment vote, could become a new litmus test that turns red states blue.
Remember, ten years ago, Democrats held 60 Senate seats. It can happen again.
