Howard Dean said we should reach out to people we don't agree with, not in so many words, but that was his 50 state strategy.

The Democratic party has changed drastically throughout the years. I would like to think todays Democratic party stands for at least certain basic principles which include:

1. The right to privacy
2. Preserving Social Security and Medicare
3. Civil Rights

However, you can find Democrats, many blue dogs, who do not adhere to even the above.

Thus we are a divided party.
