16. Hard to say "I love my job" in this heat

Greenhouse seasonal. No matter what the plants need water. It gets really, REALLY ugly in my normally very happy place. Move slowly, water feet frequently. Don't laugh - it is amazing how good it feels to give hot feet a cooling shot of water.

I worry about the guys doing curb and gutter work in my neighborhood. Worry about my farming family members as they care for their livestock. Worry about my beloved zoo critters and their keepers. Good news there, the keepers have action plans to make sure the animals stay safe and cool as possible. It is going to be a challenging few days for everyone.

Zeus Dog gets his morning walk at 5 AM - still beautiful that time of day. Sidewalks and pavements have cooled overnight so his paws are comfy. There is an area where he can run and frolic and be a dog. Evening walk - depends on the state of those hard surfaces. We humans wear shoes and don't always realize how hot the sidewalks, streets, and even the house deck surface can get. He is currently stretched out on the cool tile floor, gently snoring - a walk, breakfast, the last bite of Mom's bacon - life is good for the ol' boy.
