9. I Remember it too...

It was on the route that I took from college to home and back. There was also one that said, "Get the US out of the UN."

Also, I remember, as a child, the whites only signs, the white drinking fountain and the colored one beside it. Arguing with my mother to let me drink from the colored one because I was bored with the white water.

I remember the local publicly owned hospital sign that said, "Dogs, sailors and n*****s keep off the grass"

I remember the local schools shutting down and students missing an entire year of school instead of allowing non-white students to attend.

I remember my cousin having to go to another state to get married because Virginia would not allow her to marry a Philippino man.

I remember the poll tax, real estate "red lining", sitting in a car dealship and the salesmen arguing about who would have to go out and tell those n*****s to get the hell off their lot.

So, yeah, don't think it can't happen here, because it already has and can again.
