107. I can't stand Christie because of his statements and his politics.

His physical appearance in some ways personifies their ugliness.

But I have learned, especially as I have aged, that keeping my weight within bounds, no matter what I do, is more difficult if for no reason other than that my body's metabolic system doesn't work in the same way as it did when I was younger. And yes, I struggle.

So I too am very uncomfortable with the "fat" memes, even when they are directed Christie's way, nasty as he is. They are hurtful and mean and we belittle ourselves by using them. Just because Republicans are not above bashing in any way possible does not justify Democrats descending to their level.

We have plenty of weapons to bash Republicans with that don't need to be based on race, gender, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, national origin or physical appearance. Not using such epithets is not "political correctness" as the Republicans like to charge. It is simple courtesy. And one can achieve much more by courtesy than one might think.
