(2,507 posts)I was very disappointed about how this whole thing went down, Al Franken should have been given the chance to exonerate himself.
I have always liked Al as a comedian, good human being, and Senator. He exceeded my expectations of how hed be as a Senator, and my expectations were high. In my opinion, hes up there with Paul Wellstone, hes that smart and incorruptible.
This was so obviously a hit job by Repub operatives, and this article confirms it. Roger Stone knew in advance about an attack on Al. It was depressing that our own Democratic Senators went along with it, and my opinion of them is less. Its good to hear that so many of them now regret their jump to judgement.
I would love it if Al would return to the Senate, or become a US Rep, hes needed.
