I've found a number of people who really like the idea of hurting, embarrassing, humiliating, or otherwise wronging other people. Even if they don't know them, even if they don't have any chance of seeing the hurt, it just makes them happy to think about wronging others.

Perhaps its the same percentage as when I was a kid but the envelope's been pushed. So one kid peed in a teacher's trash can and thought it funny at the idea of an poor, old brown-skinned immigrant having to clean up his piss. If he wasn't the son of a poor brown-skinned immigrant, also from Mexico or central America, perhaps we'd have a name for it. Affluenza? No. Racism? Hardly. Perhaps ageism? But he had to bring class and ethnicity into it.

Another kid discharged pepper spray in a bathroom. It got him, too. But he just thought it would be funny, esp. for the guys who were taking a dump or a leak. He didn't have any reason to hurt them. He just thought it funny that he could do something like that. Not hateful, per say.
