11. Paul Ryan held out for something, maybe it was cash

Or maybe it was something else. Remember back in 2016 when Chump won most of the primaries and basically sewed up the Republican nomination before the convention? Except Ryan refused to endorse Chump for about 2 weeks, he hemmed and hawed about it. A bunch of secret meetings with McConnell and others, and suddenly, poof! Ryan was on board with Chump as the Republican nominee. Just like that.

Whatever took place in those secret meetings, you KNOW they made some kind of deal. I don't know about Gowdy, but definitely Ryan got something in exchange for his lukewarm endorsement of Chump.
