3. Yeah, pretty good rant, BUT....

Hayes fails to add that the Republican party has been flirting with racism and the vile politics of Donald Trump since Nixon's time. The "silent majority" in Nixon's time were moderate to conservative White people. Reagan railed againt "Welfare queens in Cadillacs and Young Bucks eating steak dinners" and continued the war on drugs started by Nixon. Reagan helped to make MS-13 a deadly force by shipping them to El Salvador where they got training in the civil war that Reagan helped to pour gas on by training and equipping right wing death squads. Bush Sr. ran the "Willie Horton" ads. Bush Jr. helped to vilify Muslims even as he defended them, by focusing on Islamic Terrorism and ignoring White nationalists here. The republicans have been blowing the dog whistle of racism and xenophobia for 50 years. Trump is just the mask come completely off. To not mention that, and focus only on the carnival barker misses the big picture.
