I realize that it isn’t the case that every single police officer is a criminal or out to do intentional harm, but the fact is, the “profession” attracts a certain personality type, and that is one who easily leans toward authoritarianism.

Getting arrested for “contempt of cop” is increasingly common.

I’m glad to read officer McCoy did the right thing here, but I am confident in my statement above; if circumstances were only slightly different, that homeless man would have had a dramatically different experience.
