What's with this "Old White Men" thingy going on here? [View all]

I see this in comments on DU more frequently. I don't see "Old White Women" mentioned at all.....I guess because that might get one banned from DU or at least an alert or two for the Jury to decide.

What bothers me is that sometimes it's prefaced with "Angry" Old White Men....but not prefaced with defining the Politics of the "Old White Men or "Angry" Old White Men.

We Democrats here on DU need to be very careful with these broad statements that reek of "Ageism Discrimination."

There are many "Old White Men and Old White Women" who are long time Democratic Voters who vote in huge numbers CONSISTENTLY ...not just in the Presidential Elections...but for EVERY SINGLE state and Local Election.

Older Democrats (and Repugs) have the time to READ and the time to be more informed from a wide variety of sources (if they seek to) and to throw out a group of people because of their age would seem to be getting into territory that most Dems have always been against in the decades of the 20th Century and now our new 21st Century.

I would hope that the Democratic Party would not just be Positioning Itself....as the "Party of the YOUNG."

But, that's what this long time DU'er is picking up from what I read ....Not only Here...but, around the web in "comments" on Dem sites.

Just saying.....I don't think alienating a group of people because they are not "Young" is a good idea for our Party or this website.

Respectfully,
KoKo
