2. I had a first-responder friend who was there on the night of the crash.

He was never the same again after being at the site, and this is a paramedic who had seen it all — including being on the scene to treat his dad who died in a car wreck. Imagine being traumatized by something worse than being unable to save your dad's life. The crash of Flight 427 was exactly that.
