1.) I think it really depends on the concept of "old." I'm pretty sure we can quickly come up with an agreement as to what "white" constitutes (even if my ancestors on my father's side weren't listed as such...)

2.) I know a few republicans. They seem to be more afraid of the memes surrounding Democrats, then they are happy/excited about their candidates. (Mind you, the republicans I get along with, peg me as a wannabe Franklin, so there may be a certain amount of free-form nostalgia ruling their collective mental roosts...)

3.) I don't see how the Republican party can maintain its current form, for more than about 10 years.
