... looked great at first blush. But the piper is now demanding to be paid - and the price is staggering.

The traditional GOP talking points have now been destroyed. The party of fiscal responsibility, good Christian principles, and enduring family values is now the party of traumatized kids locked in cages, skyrocketing deficits, and a credibly accused rapist on the Supreme Court.

Thanks to Trump, the Republicans have destroyed their credibility with our allies, and have shown themselves to be
willing to lie, cheat and steal to win, and have demonstrated their spinelessness when it comes to standing up for their country in order to stand up to an ignorant fool instead.

While the GOPers might think they got what they paid for, the truth is self-evident. The price has been - among other things - having to defend the indefensible 24/7 since this idiot has been in office. It started with having to debase themselves by insisting that their "pResident's" inauguration was more widely attended than any other POTUS - all evidence to the contrary - to now defending his blatant attempt to pressure a foreign leader into interfering in our elections for his own personal political gain.

One way or another, Trump will be gone by January 2021, and the GOP will be left holding the bag - a bag full of lies, cover-ups, perjury, and a willingness to corrupt their own party's much-touted principles in order to protect a lying Dotard.

When all is said and done, this will not end well for the GOP.
