6. And they overestimate their own cleverness

Narcissists who are successful are obligated to remain a mystery to people around them because it’s the only way they can lie, cheat and fool people. They can only function within limited groups. They have to make sure to divide everyone, to keep people off balance, to bully individuals so they can control them.

That’s not so easy to do to entire countries. Proof of this is that even before he became president we already had his number. We just couldn’t prove it and people who benefitted from his Narcissism protected him.
