(220 posts)Extorting a foreign power to help Trump win an election has been "normalized" by Trump. I don't think that the corrupt act that we know of would be considered a "urgent concern" by the Inspector General.
There has to be more in that whistle blower report than just a phone call by Trump. The news today that the Whistle blower has contacted the Intelligence Committee saying he/she wants to testify. Hopefully he/she will answer questions about other abuses of power by Trump.
If the rumors about Trump wanting a list of undercover US agents in Russia are true and that comes out in the upcoming hearings it may be evidence of Trump committing treason. If he were convicted of treason the penalty for treason is "is guilty of treason and shall suffer death, or shall be imprisoned not less than five years and fined under this title but not less than $10,000;"
