And the idea that humans are metaphysically special gets funnier the longer you think about it.

Let's say that for the first time, evolution spits out a species capable of creating creation myths. And lets say that some of the creation myths those creatures come up say that the whole universe exists in reference to one, and only one species. And that one, and only one species really matters to the creator of everything.

I wonder which species they would pick?

The first species to invent metaphysics gets to consider itself metaphysically special. That's the prize.
