56. I had five years in Jr high and high school

And three semesters in college. (I chose French.) I had very good grades and supposedly had a "good ear". I could speak it and I could hold conversations. I never would have considered myself fluent or even conversational because it was all academic with no immersion. I never really had to use it and have sadly lost it over time.

I've had people tell me they were fluent in Spanish after one year of high school Spanish. It's insulting.
