"Paul Ryan lies" = about 304,000 results

"Mitt Romney lies" = about 570,000 results

"Barack Obama lies" = about 871,000 results

Without the parenthesis in the search text box, the total includes every page with "paul" plus every page with "ryan" plus every page with "lies"

"John Doe lies" = about 24,800 results
