except when it’s not, and people die.

And even if it is “easy to deal with” it’s entirely unnecessary to deal with it — get a jab and increase your chances of dodging it (and if you do get the flu after a vaccine it’s usually much less severe.) It’s isn’t as if it’s a hugely expensive or complex procedure.

I’m not gonna lie, I usually skip the shot because I’m terribly afraid of needles (pathetic, I know) but I would never counsel anyone to avoid doing it, let alone go on some long-winded, paint-by-numbers, anti-pharma bingo, heard it a billion times rant about how we all see the doctor too much and Big Pharma is a scam yadda-yadda-yadda.

Modern medicine is a net boon. Modern pharmacology is a net boon. Any liberal too dumb to understand something that basic doesn’t deserve the name.
