(102,225 posts)A guest with him interjected "childhood? and he nodded. So, while I am very fully aware of the differences in Type 1 and 2 diabetes, since there was no follow-up and nothing has been written in any interviews I've seen, I took that at face value. Now, if you have seen something documenting that he was first diagnosed a few years ago while hospitalized, that clearly suggests nonjuvenile diabetes, though he still may be insulin-dependant. As you know, tweety doesn't listen to his guests so the fact he nodded but did not correct might well be nothing more than he wasn't really listening.
So, based on what you have seen reported, I'd guess he is suffering not from juvenile diabetes (and thus not type I), although it remains possible he is insulin-dependant if other alternative meds have not conferred good control as can occur in Type II as well.
