27. Here's my speculation on the whole Ryan pick

The more Moderate Repug. Party silent elders including Romney pretty much already know he's gonna lose. Choosing Ryan now to be in the national spotlight shines a light on his skeezebag behavior and policies. It cuts him off at the knees and takes away the threat to Bohner for the Speakership if they maintain the House. Bohner stays in position. Ryan is Palinized. His side of the party is marginalized and will not present as much of a threat in 4 years when they can run a more moderate candidate in general.

If Romney does by chance win...well no sweat...They'll find a way to neutralize him later

I'm still optimistic that there are still some Rational Republicans somewhere in string pulling power who want to rid the country of the Baggers and Teavangelicals as much as we do.
