I have to remember to go the afternoon before holidays. They're good about marking things down if they are close to expiration, but you can get especially good deals if they're going to be closed the next day. I was in there yesterday, they're closed today for labor day. Bananas were marked down to 10 cents a pound, I bought about 7 big bunches. I'm bringing most to my classroom for hungry kids, and the rest will go in my freezer for smoothies.
