What grounds?..... Trump ADMITTED he did the high crime.

Second, Article 1, Section 3.

The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present.

A Senator Oath:
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”


When a Senator took an Oath to judge a crime was committed by Trump, they MUST not over look the crime for his allegiance. They are allegiant to USA, not to the accused.
