Many of those who are insisting that everyone boycott Facebook are not really Facebook users in the first place. So, they're unlikely to be aware of the features of FB that make it valuable to so many. Focusing only on the political side is a mistake, I think. Most Facebook users, I suspect pay little attention at all to the political goings on.

Again and again, I see people who are trying to get people to boycott the site saying things like, "I quit Facebook in 2016," or "I never use Facebook." So, it's clear where they stand and that they aren't aware of how so many people use the site.
