The internet was set ablaze this week when rapper T.I. revealed that he attends his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah Harris’ OBGYN appointments, and demands to know if her hymen is intact. It’s a gross violation of privacy and extremely misogynist. On a since-deleted episode of Ladies Like Us podcast called “Life Hacks,” the Atlanta-born rapper revealed,


Deyjah’s just graduated high school now and she’s attending her first year of college, figuring it out for herself. And yes, not only have we had the conversation, we have yearly trips to the gynecologist to check her hymen.

The comments are sexist, disgusting, creepy, and offensive, and the backlash has been swift. But how is Deyjah Harris, the young lady who has been thrust amid this media firestorm handling it all?

Harris has not publically commented on her father’s yearly trips with her to the gynecologist. However, she has liked several tweets referring to the Rythm +Flow judge’s actions as “disgusting” and “possessive.” She also hopped on Twitter to say, “I loveeeeeee yalllllll” with a sad face emoji. In addition to being publicly humiliated, Harris has also had to deal with a slew of sexual and alarming comments on her social media pages from horrible predatory men.
