With Trump, it'll probably be a combination of attempted bribes and the threat of turning his rabid, toothless base against them.
He'll first want to know how they would vote in a trial, then ask them "what it would take" for them to support him if they're wavering. If they aren't forthcoming in their support, he'll give them the old "it'd be a shame if something happened to your political career".

I think it's more likely he's just trying to make sure nobody in the Senate is turning on him.
