"There is no server, so how dare you ask anybody to investigate!"

It's like asking Oregon to investigate sasquatch sightings in exchange for something. Meh. It carries no harm to anybody except the expense of conducting the investigation. It's not a political wrangle; there is no "he's trying to get a foreign government to de facto meddle in the 2020 elections." There's no there there, they're carrying on but their there is entirely lacking.

It's a different thing when asking about Hunter Biden.
