I have mentioned here before that I also see them as being in two camps.

The first is the supporter. They support him, but are not radical and extreme, so certain events could sway them to change their minds over time. However, don't expect them to acknowledge that overtly.

Then, there are the more mindless, devoted loyalists who are troubling. Those are the ones that are of greatest concern. I don't see today's loyalists in McAmerica taking a bullet or falling on their swords for their authoritarian chosen one, but they can and will overlook anything that does not fit their confirmation bias and would literally let him get away with murder while making some excuse for it.

It is the second kind that I think are more of a minority but they are getting way too much attention as a spectacle that seems to play to sensationalism in various media.
