But it started before the 90s - the infamous Joe McCarthy (there’s a Commie under every bed!!) came up with it in the 40s. He said, “Call them the Democrat Party and emphasize the RAT!” I think they took a break for a while, but then Newt et al brought it back big time in the 90s. Just saying, that’s all.
