I don't know if its a fear of change. A fear of losing their corporate donors. A fear of losing power. But there is this bubble the establishment Democrats live wherein they believe that voters in 2020 want a parent that loves everyone equally. And that tries to make all the children love them back equally. And that this is what voters respect. A party that curries favours. Works as a brokerage company to find the middle ground.

One problem is that there is no longer a "middle ground". In fact, Mitch and the Republicans, probably want to move the goalposts even further to the right. I'm sure he and the GOP leadership think the government is STILL TOO LEFTY. Too many checks and balances still. And that nasty left wing rag called the Constitution must be amended.

Democratic leadership needs to step out of the fog. They need to embrace the new young fierce attack dogs like AOC. No one saw the decline of American politics into a reality TV show.....but it has! You have to play the hand you are dealt, not some perfect hand you had in the old timey days when Republicans and also the news media, could be counted on to play fair and use factual information. Its an all out war. We need leadership that recognizes this new reality.
