You think Pelosi had leverage? Not really. Trump would have been thrilled if Pelosi had refused to invite him to give his state of the union address in the House chamber. He would have used that as an excuse to give his state of the union address to an overflowing arena full of rabid Trumpers (dutifully televised by all the networks).
