47. Are you talking about the NYT article?

If you are talking about some other article, please leave a link.

I am satisfied that Pelosi expressed a worry that Trump will create chaos and refuse to leave office UNLESS we have a massive turnout that overwhelms his number of voters. She ought to know, and she is asking for the turnout that makes us victorious over him.

There are a number of problems he can give us. Count me in with those that are definitely worried about this. History notwithstanding, this "president" is not normal at all. His behavior, and his past actions, suggest that he will not go willingly.

Talking down Patriots because you do not believe that Pelosi said or implied that she is worried doesn't change the fact that this "president" talks like a dictator, and is definitely trying to walk the walk of a dictator. He has said as much; he can do what he wants. He is contemptuous of his base voters, and they are oblivious to it.

People talk a lot about how he will be pulled from the Oval Office by noon on that day. This is what your imagination allows for, not other things that might happen. It's like you're telling yourself, "It can't happen any other way because it NEVER HAS BEFORE. Well, there ARE things that he has said and done that are indicators that things might not go the way it used to go.

We want people to wake the hell up and prepare to do what they need to do to protect the Democracy. They can at the very least, position their economic assets to hold on, and plan to vote no matter what it takes to get their vote in. Make sure they are registered, know where their polling place is, and help get the win.

Trump et al are the single most threat to our country at this point. We should be prepared and know in advance what we are going to do. Do you realize that Trump has given himself the power to suspend the very election that, under normal circumstances, he probably wouldn't win anyway? Given his apparent insanity, why is it unreasonable for an ordinary citizen to wonder what he will do? Even if you want to disregard a report, which is fine, why can't someone open a discussion of Trump's penchant for acting like a dictator?

Do you know anything about private security contractors who allegedly protect Trump in the WH, which was mentioned in 2016 but never mentioned again...this is in addition to the SS.

I would like nothing more than to pack a good lunch and head out to the polls, then retire to the television to watch Tump disappear into a footnote in history. But, I can't count on it. Not when Trump is apparently engineering WW3 as we speak, and he is beginning to position Ivanka as his successor. I would love to be wrong. I want to be wrong. I want you back here next January ragging me to death for my worrying.

But, I am worried. I have never seen the like of this "president." There is more going wrong than just his ignorance of how the government works. He has gotten away with a lot of stuff that is downright illegal, and starting say, a Civil War, would be worth it to him if it meant he can keep power. He models himself after dictators, but the thing that is standing in his way is our precious Constitution.

Why would Pelosi start up this dialogue?
