(263 posts)29. I hate to say it, but a "Wag The Dog" moment most certainly happened...
it's not like the guy wasn't bad, or that the Iraq embassy wasn't attacked, but that backburner conflict has been going on for a while. Why all of the sudden order a drone strike hit on the guy Jan 2nd, without informing anyone in the Gang of 8? It appears to me to be a very self-serving action to distract and bolster his own image (in his own eyes, and to our detriment).
