I remember talking to Rubin after he traveled from his home in Canada, to meet with then Governor Bush to discuss a death penalty case. Now, Rubin had been wrongly incarcerated for 20 years previous to his work in Canada. He had been incarcerated with some very sick, violent individuals. But Bush was as cold as anyone he had ever met.

He told me Bush was "giddy" about sending men and women to their death. I remeber him saying that the "W" in his name stood for "Death."
