We would now have universal, at worst near-universal, healthcare in this nation if enough of us had voted to do it. We were so close!

We still are, though.

With all the will in the world, enemies of progressive healthcare have not been able to destroy what we created, only damage it a bit, but keep it from being available to those it's supposed to cover and of course keep it from being expanded and improved as planned.

Btw, Bernie Sanders voted AGAINST improving the ACA just last year, including expanding coverages and lowering costs, for purely political reasons. He did that even though his own, currently nonexistent, program would take most of a decade to replace it. Strange commitment to saving lives.
