No one is offended by the NYC Bar Association's letter, no matter how much you gish-gallop to try to make it so. The criticism is directed at the DU caption because it is made up nonsense, and has nothing to do with the action taken by the NYC Bar Association.
As a professional association of lawyers, the NYC Bar Association knows how to go about getting someone disbarred. The process of disbarrment, and the code of professional responsibiltiy are taught and/or tested at least twice - sometimes 3 times - to all individuals before they receive their license to practice law. No attorney, or group of attorneys, going after someone's license would do so by firing off a letter to Congress. They would file an ethics complaint with the state licensing authority.
That doesn't mean the letter is pointless - it just means that it has nothing to do with Barr's license (the claim made in the post title).
